As the follow-up to her debut album, Lessons In Love,  that released nearly two years removed ago British singer Sinéad Harnett returns with her second full-length effort, Ready Is Always Too Late, a collection of soul-searching R&B ballads and seamless collaborations that present the Thai and Irish singer as a critical new voice in the genre.

This 11-track project stays true to her own style, promotes moving on with love when it appears one’s time will be wasted. Through it all, listeners can also catch appearances from Lucky Daye, Masego, VanJess, and Earthgang’s Johnny Venus.

While this album wasn’t the original plan she started to write in January of 2020 after meeting her new team in LA, the closure of the world due to the global coronavirus pandemic kept Harnett stateside and be left to her own devices inspiration to create her sophomore release.

“Ready has often been an excuse, and one I didn’t want to use anymore,” Harnett says. “I wasn’t ready to be proud of the skin I was in, to find my inner confidence or to truly practice self-love. But I’m doing it now and it’s an ongoing, crazy and unpredictable journey that I’m grateful for.”

Describing her new album as “iconic,” she admits that tooting her own horn never came naturally to her. The creation of this album helped her to let go of those negative voices we all adopt. Realizing we cannot be defined by our success, we have to be defined by our passion and our heart. A singer-songwriter whose deep understanding of herself as a person, as an artist, is unshakeable. The more confident person she’s become is super refreshing to witness.
