Nike has decided to suspend their partnership with Kyrie Irving due to controversial comments made by Irving about his social media post about a book and a movie containing antisemitic tropes.

With the suspension Irving is facing from Nike that also includes his eighth and final signature sneaker will no longer be released. The Kyrie 8 was set to release November 8th at select few retailers on Nike.com but they have decided not to launch the kyrie 8.

Irving has been with Nike since 2014 and has been one of Nikes best signature athletes but Irving’s contract with Nike was coming to an end as his Nike deal expired on Oct. 1, 2023.

Some retailers have already received their shipments of Kyrie 8s. It remains a mystery if Nike will eventually release the Kyrie 8 or completely scrap the release and move on.
