The quote every woman asks after a bad break up ” Why men great, ’til they gotta be great?” well Lizzo has put that question in song form on summer hit “Truth Hurts,” And Monday the female singer/rapper has made  herstory earning a seventh week atop the Billboard Hot 100 with the single. “The Cuz I Love You”  single ties Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” featuring Charli XCX for longest-running No. 1 for a rap song by a female artist.

Lizzo becomes the sixth female rapper to reach No. 1 on the Hot 100 following Ms. Lauryn Hill (“Doo Wop (That Thing)”), Lil’ Kim (“Lady Marmalade”), Shawnna (“Stand Up”), Iggy Azalea (“Fancy”), and Cardi B (“Bodak Yellow”). This the first rap No. 1 on the Hot 100 for an unaccompanied female since Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves),” which spent three weeks on top in Oct. 2017.

Toping the Hot 100 in early September and “Truth Hurts,” spent six consecutive weeks at No. 1 before being dethroned by Travis Scott’s “Highest in the Room,”  which slides to No. 6 in its second week on the chart. Lizzo took to Instagram to celebrate this most momentous occasion.

Follow-up single “Good as Hell,” moves up four spots to No. 20 on the Hot 100.
