As the Clown Prince of Crime is set for a theatrical released on October 4, Warner Bros. is ready to rev up his favorite Harley. As the first full trailer for DC’s upcoming film “Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn),” dropped earlier this week.
Since the events of “Suicide Squad,” Batman has disappeared, leaving Gotham City unprotected from crime, and Harley Quinn has left the Joker. When Cassandra Cain, a young girl, comes across a diamond belonging to crime lord Black Mask, Harley joins forces with Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to help protect her.
The cast of the film consists of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn; Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary; Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress; Rosie Perez as Detective Renee Montoya; Ella Jay Basco as Batgirl Cassandra Cain; Ewan McGregor as the villainous Black Mask; and Chris Messina as the serial killer, Victor Zsasz.
As DC continues on its revival for more fun and light-hearted experience for the viewer it is to be seen if Harley will be a big enough star to carry a film before her return to James Gunn’s Suicide Squad in August of 2021.
The movie is said to be an R-rated “girl-gang movie,” and it’s set to be released on February 7th, 2020. Check out the trailer below:
