Marvel has reportedly offered Hailee Steinfeld the leading role in Disney+’s upcoming “Hawkeye” series. According to Variety, if she takes the gig she will be taking on the role of Kate Bishop starring alongside Jeremy Renner, who is set to reprise his role as Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye, a.k.a. Ronin.
For those of you unfamiliar with this character Kate Bishop is the one who assumes the role of Hawkeye after Barton. She doesn’t have any superhuman abilities but was trained in unarmed combat, sword fighting, with a high level of skill in archery. Kate also possesses a significant stock of fighting weapons.
Following the subsequent void left by the departure of Tom Holland and Spider-Man from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) having a very talented young actress, such as Steinfeld would fill that void perfectly. If she chooses to accept the role.
It has been confirmed all series will be apart of Marvel’s Phase Four round of releases directly tying into the MCU movies. Setting up films new like the rumored Young Avenger.
She’s got the look, the style, and the acting chops to pull it off. The question is does she have the time to commit to a long-term in the MCU? Steinfeld will be assuming a role as Emily Dickinson in the upcoming Apple streaming series “Dickinson.” Which if it does well will garner a second season. So will she be able to juggle both roles? Only time will tell.
The “Hawkeye” series is set to be released in fall 2021 on Disney+.
