One of the biggest musical performances of every year is the Super Bowl halftime show. The NFL made news when it was announced that it would team up with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation to enact social justice reform.
Part of that deal allowed for Roc Nation to have a role in the production of the halftime performance.
Today, it was announced that musicians Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will co-headline this Pepsi Halftime Show in Miami.
Both artists sent out tweets to make it official:

It doesn’t get any bigger than this! So excited about getting on that #SuperBowlLIV #PepsiHalftime stage! @JLo 🤩🔥#nosvemosMiami #happybirthdaytomeee pic.twitter.com/BVosjrOcwN

Unlike last year’s fiasco that led to Maroon 5 headlining in a musically-rich city like Atlanta, it seems that the league—with perceived help from Jay-Z—was not going to make the same mistake twice.
Though neither artist hails from South Beach, Miami is a very latin-inspired place and getting two prominent Latinas is a great way to make sure the place is packed regardless of which two teams are actually playing.
