One of the biggest musical performances of every year is the Super Bowl halftime show. The NFL made news when it was announced that it would team up with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation to enact social justice reform.

Part of that deal allowed for Roc Nation to have a role in the production of the halftime performance.

Today, it was announced that musicians Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will co-headline this Pepsi Halftime Show in Miami.

Both artists sent out tweets to make it official:

Unlike last year’s fiasco that led to Maroon 5 headlining in a musically-rich city like Atlanta, it seems that the league—with perceived help from Jay-Z—was not going to make the same mistake twice.

Though neither artist hails from South Beach, Miami is a very latin-inspired place and getting two prominent Latinas is a great way to make sure the place is packed regardless of which two teams are actually playing.
