Primetime Preview: Tennessee Titans vs. Green Bay Packers (TNF Week 11)

Featured

Let’s be honest and say so far this season not too many of the Thursday night games have been that fun or entertaining to watch. Either it’s been slow-paced games, low scores, or just one team blowing away their opponent. This week the team’s records may make you think we are going to see just another boring game but this matchup between the Tennessee Titans and Green Bay Packers could be the best of the season so far. Packers coming off a win snapping their 5 games losing streak and on the other side the Titans winning games carried by Derrick Henry with the ground game. Tennessee is currently sitting at the top of the AFC South with Indy right behind by a couple of games. The Titans have won 6 of their last 7 games after losing their first two games of the season. The majority of their games have been close by a touchdown or less except for the week 2 matchup with the Bills being blown out by 34 but really turned it around after that with Derrick Henry leading the charge. Henry has had to carry the majority of the load the past few weeks after injury to Tannehill sidelined him and the Titans had to bring in rookie quarterback Malik Willis who held his own for the Titans to win games. The offense relied heavily on the run in the two games that the Titans played without Tannehill.

Henry ran for over 200 yards and two touchdowns against the Texans and followed up with a 100-yard game and two touchdowns in a tough overtime loss against the Chiefs. With Ryan Tannehill back the workload dropped for Henry last week and Tannehill threw for 2 touchdowns to win over the Broncos. So this week facing the Green Packers will the Titans rely on the run game or passing? The packers have the 6th highest rushing yards for opponents so id expect the workload to increase for Henry this week and have another monster game. On the defensive side, the Titans have the second-highest opponent passing yards per game. And they face a huge test facing the Packers offense who is a pass-heavy offense especially after coming off possibly the best game of the season for the Packers. The Titans’ defense will be the key to winning the matchup against the Packers. The Green Bay Packers may still be alive and in the running for playoffs. Now they may be out of contention trying to catch what looks to be the best team in the NFL and division rival Minnesota Vikings.

The packers are only 2 or 3 games out of the final spot in the playoffs. After finally snapping their losing streak beating the Dallas Cowboys gives some hope to Packers fans and players to make a push for playoffs. And going into Thursday’s matchup with great momentum to start a winning streak to get even closer to that last spot. Not only was it a great win in overtime but it was also a breakout night for rookie Christian Watson. For the majority of the season, the Packer’s young receivers have been criticized for low production in games and even from their veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers. But something clicked Sunday for Watson after a couple of drops in the early part of the game. Watson huge part of the Packer’s win after racking up 107 yards on four catches and 3 touchdowns. And his final touchdown of the game was the one to help the Packers force it into overtime. In overtime, the Packer’s other young receiver Allen Lazard added a 36-yard completion that put Green Bay in position for the winning field goal by Mason Crosby.

After a game where the young guys stepped up could we expect them to continue to do the same and help this Packers team win more games to get into playoffs? Facing the Titans will be a big opportunity to follow up on a great performance as their defense is second worst in the NFL against the pass. This could be a game where Rodgers lets it fly and has one of his best games of the season and continue that winning momentum. The packers could end up running away with this game if the Titans get no pressure on Aaron Rodgers and force some mistakes. But there will be some pressure on the young receivers to perform just as well as last week if they want to keep winning. While on the other side besides the Titans passing defense is key to a victory the offense for the Titans has to be well-balanced and not just rely on Derrick Henry to carry the workload.

Prediction: Packers 31 – Titans 21

Primetime Preview: Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns (MNF Week 8)

Primetime Preview: Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns (MNF Week 8)

Featured

The Cincinnati Bengals are back to their winning ways after their close loss to the Ravens currently on a 2-game-win streak. The Bengals are 4-3 this season and right behind the Ravens in the division. With a win tonight they will tie the Ravens for first in the AFC North division. The Bengals are a high-powered offense that is starting to find its groove thanks to the performances by Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase. Burrow has thrown for 2,097 yards and 15 touchdowns. 6 of those 15 touchdowns were thrown in the last two games and he also rushed for 2 combined in those games. I expect Burrow to add plenty more facing the Browns but his main target Ja’Marr Chase will be out due to a hip injury so we will see who will be the wide receiver to step up in his place. Chase has put up good numbers entering week 8 with 605 yards per game and sitting 3rd in touchdowns with 6. So look for Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins to help out as well as Mixon in the passing game.

They face a Browns defense that gives up 26.6 points per game and 210 passing yards so expect the Bengals passing games to light up that secondary. This season just isn’t what they expected and I’m talking about the Cleveland Browns. Having to start the season without star quarterback Deshaun Watson due to off-the-field trouble the starting position was handed over to veteran Jacoby Brisset who helped the Browns get a win in the first game of the season but since then he has lost 4 of his 5 starts. No signs of the passing game getting any better for the Browns until the return of Watson from his suspension. But the only spotlight on this Cleveland Brown roster is the performance from Nick Chubb this season. Chubb has been the best player on this team since week one and the only chance of the Browns staying in games or possibly winning. He has racked up 740 yards currently in 3 rd place in the league and is tied for first in touchdowns with 8. Nick Chubbs has had 3 games with over 100 yards but only one win in those games. Unfortunately, the hard work Chubbs is putting in this season just isn’t enough to win games but the blame is not on him. On the other side of the ball, the Browns defense is in the middle of the league ranks in overall defense and it’s going to be a huge nightmare tonight for that defense on this Halloween night facing this Bengals offense.

Prediction:37 – 14 Bengals over the Browns

Primetime Preview: Green Bay Packers Vs Buffalo Bills (SNF Week 8)

Primetime Preview: Green Bay Packers Vs Buffalo Bills (SNF Week 8)

Don’t let the record fool you on Sunday night as the Green Bay Packers head to Buffalo to face
the Bills and Josh Allen. You’ve got the Bills who are a roll right now with a 5-1 record and then you
Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay have yet to figure things out so far and hope to really find their
groove on Sunday night. It’s going to be a great matchup between Rodgers and Allen and that’s plenty of
reason to tune in on NBC for some Sunday Night Football.

Is this the Packers team we expected to see this far into the season after seeing one of the
biggest off-season trades when the Green Bay Packers decided to move Devante Adams? The move
left a huge hole in the Packers offense and took away Rodgers main target. Now the Packers have
been struggling to get their offense back to where they have been the past two seasons Rodgers won
MVPs. Young receivers that have yet to figure out ways to help or improve after 7 weeks.

Rodgers numbers aren’t as great as they could be with only 1,597 passing yards and 11 touchdowns on the
season. And I don’t believe this week is going to be any better for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay
Packers facing a hot team like the Buffalo Bills. It’s a must-win game for the Packers who are currently
sitting at 3-4 record behind a 5-1 Minnesota Vikings team that could pull away quickly if the Packers
continue to struggle.

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are on fire this season only having one loss thru 8 weeks and
coming off a bye they should be well-rested and ready to tear up the field. Josh Allen is having an MVP
season racking up 1,980 yards, 17 touchdowns, and with a 66.9 completion percentage. Allen is also
leading the team in rushing with 257 yards and 2 touchdowns. With his performance, it puts the Buffalo
Bills are on top of the list for Super Bowl contenders and a heavy favorite. But he isn’t the only one who is
playing at a high level. His top target Stefon Diggs is also having a great year with 656 receiving yards
and 6 touchdowns and has had 3 games with over 100 yards receiving and a 3-touchdown game to start
the season.

The Bills offense isn’t the only thing that is working for them as their defense has also been
locked in this year with 3 blowout wins and 2 victories where they clutched up to secure close games for
wins. The leader on the defense has been Von Miller and could have been the missing piece to really put the
Bill over that hump that they have struggled to get over the past few seasons. Buffalo’s defense has only
given up 13.5 points per game and is top ten in yards allowed(1 st ), total sacks(7th), and turnovers(6th). It
may turn into a nightmare tonight for the Green Bay Packers the day before Halloween.

Prediction: 37 – 21 Bills over the Packers

SneakerReporter NFL Week 8: Preview and Predictions

SneakerReporter NFL Week 8: Preview and Predictions

Starting off week 8 Sunday games with an early morning football game in London at Wembley
Stadium. The two teams featured are the Denver Broncos and the Jacksonville Jaguars. A Denver team
that is 2-5 and not looking any better as the weeks go by. The focus has been on the below-par
performance from Russell Wilson. It’s not the Russell we are used to seeing and some reason for it could
be due to some injuries. This is the week the Broncos must figure out what they need to do to win
games, or it may be too late to make a run for playoffs. They face a Jaguars team that isn’t doing much
better this season also at a 2-5 record. The Jaguars have played some good football this season losing close
games. Last week coming up short by a touchdown to the Giants. Based on the momentum the Jaguars look
to be the favorite to win this game in front of a huge London crowd.

Prediction: 24 – 14 Jaguars over Broncos

Carolina Panthers going into Atlanta with new starter PJ Walker who helped lead them to a win
last week. Walker stepped in ready to play facing Tom Brady and throwing for 177 tards and 2
touchdowns in only his 12th game played in his career. The Panthers’ organization is confident he is the guy to
help them win and says it’s tough to pull him after helping get the win in week 7. Atlanta goes into week 8
with plenty on the line as they sit in first place in the NFC South division with a 3-4 record. The falcons still
have to be without Cordarrelle Patterson for the 4th straight week. Putting all the pressure on Marcus
Mariota led the Falcons to win and to stay on top of the division. Mariota has the potential to carry
the team, but he continues to have his up and downs and this week is a big week for him to step up and
prove he is a winner for this team.

Prediction: 27 – 20 Falcons over Panthers

Dallas Cowboys catches another bad break just as they get Dak Prescott back. Zeke Elliot injured
his knee in last week’s matchup and could end up sitting out for their matchup with the Chicago Bears.
With Zeke out as their backup, Tony Pollard is ready to carry the load and give support to Dak Prescott in his
second game back from his thumb injury to stay in the race for first place in the division. The bears still struggling to figure out their offense as they continue to rely on the running game with their backs and Justin Fields
who runs just as much as he throws in a game. Is the offense that they should continue to go with or is
the head coach using their young quarterback the wrong way and could end up getting him hurt? Don’t
see much from this team this week facing the Cowboys.

Prediction: 28 – 17 Cowboys over Bears

Tua and the Miami Dolphins look to build some momentum in his second game back after being
out with a concussion. The Dolphins are 4-3 in a tough division right behind the Jets and Bills. With a win this
week it would put the Dolphins back in contention for the division and be a possible contender for
playoffs. The Lions have not had a good season and have fallen to a 1-5 record. A team that most gave
some hope to do well this season after being seen on HBO Hard Knocks, but things aren’t going to get
any better this week facing the Miami Dolphins. It’s going to be tough to contain this explosive offense
and keep it close.

Prediction: 34 – 21 Dolphins over Lions

One of the surprises of the season is the New York Jets with a 5-1 record. Nobody expected this
maybe not even the Jets fans. But will their winning record continue to grow after losing Breece Hall for
the season after suffering a torn ACL? Just unfortunate for this to happen currently when the Jets were
really getting going early this season. Now its next man up for Michael Carter and Ty Johnson to carry
the running game for the Jets to go along with the great play from their defense only giving up 19.6
points per game and will have to rely on the defense much more to keep the team in games if there is low
production from the offense after their devastating injury to Breece Hall. On the other side will the New
England Patriots go with their two-quarterback rotation of Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe in this division
game. It didn’t work out so well after pulling Mac Jones after only 3 series and Zappe playing the rest of the
game and ending up getting beat by the Bears 33-14. Don’t expect anything different this week as we
don’t know what direction the Patriots and Belichick may go with starting quarterback choice.

Prediction: 27 – 13 Jets over Patriots

The red-hot Philadelphia Eagles are at home this week and look to stay undefeated and improve to
7-0 as they welcome the Pittsburgh Steelers to Lincoln Financial Field. Steelers are 2-5 and lead by
rookie first-round pick Kenny Pickett. This game seems to be a lock for the Eagles and could easily add to
their win record this season to continue their domination so far into the season. The Eagles are surprising
everyone with the way they are playing on both sides of the ball and superstar Jalen Hurts is leading the
way. Despite only having thrown for 6 touchdowns and rushing for 6 touchdowns he is doing what is
needed to help this team keep winning and stay in the conversation for a super contender. This week
don’t be surprised for this Eagles offense to just play their best football of the season.

Prediction: 34 – 10 Eagles over Steelers

Let’s talk about the other hot team in New York and I’m talking about those Giants. Last year the
The Giants were 2-5 at this point of the season but boy did they turn things around this season. Sitting right
behind the Eagles at 6-1 and continuing to build the momentum toward being serious contenders once
playoffs start. Their offense has been led by Daniel Jones and superstar running back Saquon Barkley.
Jones has thrown for 1,223 yards and 6 touchdowns and will add a couple more to his stats this week.
Barkley could have his best game so far facing a defense that gives up 26.6 points per game and 149.7
rushing yards per game. But don’t think it’s going to be that easy of a game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Geno Smith has proven that he is capable of winning games but still has some big shoes to fill after the
departure of Russell Wilson. So far, he has 1,712 yards and 11 touchdowns on the season but could also
hurt you with running if he gets outside the pocket. Geno will do enough to keep this game close but
doesn’t have enough to help secure a win.

Prediction: 28 – 20 Giants over Seahawks

Primetime Preview: Baltimore Ravens vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (TNF Week 8)

Primetime Preview: Baltimore Ravens vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (TNF Week 8)

Featured

Here we go into week 8 of the 2022 NFL season with a matchup on Thursday night between the Baltimore Ravens and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Two teams that aren’t where they were expected to be at the start of the season. Both teams struggling to find ways to win games or just struggling to compete at times and that has dealt with major injuries to their rosters. Each quarterback has something to prove this week and it’s a must-win for both teams to turn around their seasons in a matchup of the future and from what it looks like the past in their second matchup in their careers.

Did anyone expect the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to be 3-4 at this point of this season I sure didn’t. The Bucs are coming off a blowout loss to the Carolina Panthers which no one expected to happen after recent trade made by the Panthers. They have been struggling this season going into week 8 with so many injuries that included Julio Jones missing some time due to knee issues having only played 2 games so far and recently losing starters in secondary Sean Murphy-Bunting, and Antoine Winfield Jr. who is out for Thursday nights game. The Buccaneers will also be without TE Cameron Brate due to a neck injury. Things aren’t getting any better for the Bucs and possibly may not get better. So that begins to make fans wonder if should have Tom Brady come back for this season and just should have stayed retired because he is not playing his best now. Brady is currently in the top ten in yards and passing percentage but has yet to break 10 touchdowns on the season sitting at 8 when last year he had 10 touchdowns by week 3. So, is Tom Brady not as great as he was last year, and age is starting to show, or is it just this entire Buccaneers team that is the problem and all their injuries? Maybe Thursday night’s matchup versus the Ravens may give us our answer.

On the other sideline, we have the Baltimore Ravens who aren’t that far off from the way the Bucs have been playing despite having superstar Lamar Jackson. The Ravens looked to be the team to beat early in the season with Lamar Jackson putting up Madden numbers racking 10 passing touchdowns and 2 rushing touchdowns in the first three games but since he has only recorded 1 passing touchdown per game and zero rushing. But unlike Tom Brady, there are better chances of Lamar Jackson getting out of his funk and putting up the numbers we expect, and leading the Ravens to wins. Despite only being 4-3 the Ravens are at the top of their division but tied with the Bengals for the lead. Just like the Buccaneers, the Ravens have been dealing with their own injury issues that could have been part of the reason for some of their losses. And the injuries continue as J.K Dobbins has been ruled out for 4-6 weeks after going through arthroscopic surgery on his knee so it is next man-up situation for Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill who just came back after missing two weeks due to hamstring injury. As for Thursday night’s game, Calais Campbell has also been ruled out due to illness which marks his first missed game in his 5-year career. With these recent injuries will the Baltimore Ravens overcome them and turn their season around with a win this week? I say chances are high and we could see the Lamar Jackson we saw early this season.

PREDICTION: Baltimore Ravens 34 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17
