Top 15 Kicks Worn During Week 20 of NBA Season

Twenty weeks into the 2019-20 NBA season, and hundreds of on-court shoes later. This past weekend Lebron James took on the heavyweights of the NBA and came out on top both times. James is on a mission to prove that he is still the best in the game while taking on players 10+ years younger than him. Lebron went toe-to-toe with the Milwaukee Bucks and reigning NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo on Friday night and won 113-103, dropping 37 PTS, 8 Reb, and 8 AST. Two days later LBJ and the Lakers faced that other team in Los Angeles and bested them 112-103, with Bron putting up 28 PTS, 7 REB, and 9 AST. Who is primed to come out on top of the Western Conference? Are the Lakers peaking at the right time? Will Giannis and the Bucks cakewalk through the East?

Arguably Lebron James’ best looking silhouette from his line, the Lebron VII, saw yet another retro release this past weekend with the (formerly) player exclusive ‘Fairfax’ colorway. Fittingly enough, James broke out a brand new color scheme of his seventh model on Sunday to match the Laker white uniforms. For Week 20 of our countdown, one third of our list actually contains Lebron models. James Harden also came hard with a couple new colorways of his Vol. 4’s. Sprinkle in a few OG Kobe models as well as a very rare Jordan retro by P.J. Tucker and you have yourself a list full of heat all the way from 1-15. Will Lebron take the top spot this week in our countdown or will another regular of spot #1 remain there? Check out below to find out.

March is here which means we are only a month and a half away from the end of the NBA regular season. Hopefully playoff time will equate to more new colorways from the top signature athletes across all brands. P.J. Tucker wore a shoe this past week that 99% no other player in the league has in their collection. Paul George made us all jealous of his alternate player exclusive versions of his Gatorade collection. The memorial for Kobe Bryant was held last Monday, 2/24, in remembrance of him and his daughter Gigi. Many NBA players, both past and present, showed up to the memorial. Even NBA players who had games that same day on the other side of the country made it a point to be in attendance at the memorial service.

Lebron pulled out a new P.E. colorway of his XVII’s in a high-profile matchup against Zion Williamson and the Pelicans. Russell Westbrook continues to push out the most creative color schemes on his new Zer0.3 model. Westbrook’s new colorway he rocked this past week is supposedly actually going to release to the public in April. Montrezl Harrell definitely has to have the most diverse collection of on-court shoes. You never know what Harrell is going to wear, from Nike, to Jordan, Adidas, Reebok, AND1, etc. Check our list below to see who made our Week 19 countdown.

Top 15 Kicks Worn During Week 18 of NBA Season

Featured

With the All-Star break going all the way until Wednesday of last week, it was slim pickings for this week 18’s top sneakers worn on court. Nonetheless, we still managed to come up with 15 pairs this week as opposed to just 10 in week 17. Jordan Brand athletes like Jayson Tatum, Zion Williamson, and Rui Hachimura continue to wear new colorways of Player Exclusives in the Jordan XXX4’s. James Harden broke out one of his best iterations of the Vol. 4 yet. Kobe Protros are still at the top of most-worn signature shoes throughout the league. It seems as if every colorway in Russell Westbrook’s new Why Not Zer0.3’s is more eye-catching than the previous. The Rockets’ “small ball” line-up looks to be working so far with Westbrook and Harden leading the charge.

Lebron James came up clutch against the Celtics on Sunday night, hitting a fadeaway game-winner in the final 30 seconds. As of recently, James has been opting to wear his XVII Lows in a few new color schemes. The Lebron XVII Lows appear to be his best “low version” of his signature shoe in a handful of years. It also didn’t hurt having the initial launch colorway be one inspired by Space Jam and the Tune Squad. Lastly, it looks like the floodgates of Kawhi Loenard’s New Balance shoe have been opened so be expecting a plethora of colorways to be worn by him for the remainder of the season. With so much parity in this week’s Top 15 Kicks, which sneaker do you think took the top spot? Will Lebron James debut any more new colorways of the XVII high, or has he moved on to the lows for good?

Top 15 Sneakers Worn During 2020 NBA All-Star Weekend

Last weekend the world’s best basketball players gathered in Chicago to celebrate 2020’s NBA All-Stars. Between the Rising Stars Game, Skills Challenge, 3-Point Contest, Dunk Contest, and All-Star Game – the sneakers were out in full force on the hardwood. Brands and athletes use this weekend as a platform to showcase either new colorways of signature models or sometimes new signature models altogether. Nowadays, it’s hard to truly “debut” a new shoe or colorway without a leaked image being seen on social media first. Lebron James and Kawhi Leonard were successful in doing this however. James sported a new “Space Jam” themed colorway on his XVII silhouette, inspired by one of the main characters. Kawhi debuted his first official signature shoe with New Balance.

In addition to new colorways and models being on the list, wearing customs is another way to make the Top 15.
