Official Promo Image for The CW’s Live-Action POWERPUFF GIRLS Series

Celebs

The live-action Powerpuff Girls series set to air on the CW has released the first official promo image. Based on the original Cartoon Network animated series and characters created by Craig McCracken. So Sugar, Spice, Everything Nice, and the addition of Chemical X created three perfect little girls, but what happens when America’s pint-sized superheroes Blossom (Chloe Bennet), Bubbles (Dove Cameron), and Buttercup (Yana Perrault ), are now are disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime-fighting. Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever?

Photos from the set have surfaced last week, giving fans a  first real look at what to expect first look as Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup were all decked out in their costumes, which are simple and minimalist. The series will also star Donald Faison as Professor Drake Utonium and Nicholas Podany as Mojo Jojo Jr.

Heather Regnier (Veronica Mars) and Diablo Cody (Juno) have written the script for the pilot, and Maggie Kiley is set to direct. Regnier, Cody, and Kiley will all executive produce alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden.

Here are the character descriptions via Variety:

Blossom — though she was a spunky, conscientious, Little-Miss-Perfect child who holds several advanced degrees — has repressed kiddie-superhero trauma has left her feeling anxious and reclusive, and she aims to become a leader again, this time on her own terms.

Bubbles’ sweet-girl disposition won America’s hearts as a child. She still sparkles as an adult, but her charming exterior belies an unexpected toughness and wit. She’s initially more interested in recapturing her fame than saving the world, but she just might surprise us and herself.

Buttercup was the rebellious badass of The Powerpuff Girls in its heyday. More sensitive than her tough exterior suggests, Buttercup has spent her adulthood trying to shed her Powerpuff Girl identity and live an anonymous life.

Nike’s Refurbished Program Takes Used Sneakers and Resells Them

Nike’s Refurbished Program Takes Used Sneakers and Resells Them

Featured

Starting today Nike announced it will begin selling refurbished sneakers at select stores, this is another example   of its Move to Zero initiative to create solutions at scale to help reduce its waste footprint help keep shoe out of landfills.

Here’s how the program will work after a customer returns a pair of shoes to Nike, the experts will inspect and grade the sneaker, eligible shoes will be cleaned by the Nike Refurbished team, then those shoes will become   available to another customer at a discounted price.

Thereby extended the lifespan of the sneaker, those chosen to be added to the Nike Refurbished lineup during the evaluating process are divided into three categories like new (perfect or near-perfect condition. The shoes are like new with no sign of wear or flaws), gently worn(these shoes are in great condition with visible light wear or cosmetic flaws), and cosmetically flawed (no signs of wear but slightly imperfect (for example: stain, mark, discoloration, or fading). otherwise like new).

The team uses a number of different products and tools to return shoes to as close to new condition as possible. Once the shoes land back in a Nike store, the price is based on footwear type and condition grade.  Handy messaging on the boxes make it easy to see what kind of shoes are inside, the condition grade, and more. With a simple scan of the box’s QR code, customers can check out even more information about Nike Move to Zero.

Nike Refurbished footwear is also covered by Nike’s 60-day wear test. If it’s not what a shopper needs, they can return it!

As for the returned shoes that don’t fit the Nike Refurbished criteria still has a chance at a second life, too. Nike work closely with their community partner to donate gently worn footwear. Or, if it’s truly at the end of wearable use, we recycle it into our proprietary Nike Grind.

Nike’s Refurbished program is currently available at up to 15 U.S. Nike stores, and with plans to continue to expand to additional retail destinations throughout this year and beyond. To locate a participating retailer near you, click here.
