Kyle Kuzma Joins The Puma Family

PUMA is still on the hunt for new talent and they’ve pounced on their biggest prey yet. PUMA has officially inked Los Angeles Lakers Forward Kyle Kuzma to a multi-year shoe deal reportedly worth $15 million over 5 years. The acquisition of Kyle comes as a bit of a surprise especially after Kyle’s deal with GOAT and his position as a Kobe acolyte, even having a pair of the Undefeated x Kobe IV Protro dedicated to him.

PUMA immediately capitalized on the reveal, erecting a billboard in Los Angeles with “KUZ” stamped over the PUMA branding. Rumors began to spread just recently when Kuzma was spotted at Lakers media day wearing a pair of the PUMA x Rhude Alteration sneakers. Kuzma joins a wealth of young talent including Terry Rozier, RJ Barrett, Kevin Knox, Marvin Bagley, and 2018 number one overall draft pick Deandre Ayton.

PUMA basketball is back, baby.

Detroit Pistons Media Day

Detroit Pistons Media Day

Featured

Pistons players fill the practice facility getting ready for photos and media interviews. Detroit seems revitalized with new energy. The Pistons have added great pieces to their roster this offseason in the rookie Sekou Doumbouya from France, former league MVP Derrick Rose, and the reigning big3 league MVP Joe Johnson. The team seems to be optimistic about what they can accomplish with this new Pistons squad.

Players seem to be excited to be playing along side the former league MVP Derrick Rose. Andre Drummond speaks on his new teammate.

“I think he’s better than what he was at and I’m glad he’s on my team.It shows his fight, his mental toughness. He didn’t allow those injuries to get him down. Most people would be really depressed and upset about their situation of not being able to play so long.

Ed Stefanski
also had high praises for the veteran point guard:

“Derrick had a terrific year last year, he brings that grit, that grime, he’s been through the wars, he knows what it’s all about

This has been a big offseason for the All-Star SF Black Griffin also. He’s been training in New York all summer with the Chris Brickley whose recognized as one of the top NBA trainers. He’s been working on his jump-shota lot and I’m interested to see what he puts together this season coming of an All-Star year. Blake Griffin spoke on the Pistons offseason and their new squad:

“I thought we did an unbelievable job, especially given our circumstances with how our team is structured with the salary cap and restrictions we have.We added some guys who are very good basketball players. Not only Derrick and Tony, but Markieff, Tim, Joe. All these guys are very good basketball players and have been around and understand what it takes to win. I think our depth as a team has grown this year and also our experience.

Derrick Rose himself seems to be very optimistic about the teams potential. He explained that he has championship aspirations with the Pistons:

“Now I want to win. The only thing on my résumé I’m missing is a championship and being here, seeing what happened last year with the Raptors in (the) East, you never know what can happen.”

Well Pistons fans have a lot to be excited about this season. The Eastern-conference is probably more open than it’s been in years with LeBron in the west, and KD out recovering from an Achilles injury. Pistons have a great chance to take the East by storm.

The Air Jordan 34 Hits the Diamond and the Gridiron

The Air Jordan 34 Hits the Diamond and the Gridiron

Featured

Jordan Brand continues to find a way to expand its reach despite already being one of the biggest brands in the entirety of the world of sneakers. With their recent expansion, adding in a slew of athletes across a multitude of sports, it’s becoming clearer and clearer than Jordan Brand is after complete domination–much like His Airness, himself.

The freshly revealed Air Jordan 34 won’t just grace basketball courts far and wide, it will also find life on the diamond and the gridiron as well. Air Jordan is no stranger to the diamond with one of the greatest baseball players of all time fervently repping the winged brand.

With loosened restrictions on NFL cleats, Jordans influence had permeated almost every major field. The two cleats appear in the “Void Blue” and “Wear Test” colorways initially launched with the standard edition of the Air Jordan 34.

Jordan Brand’s roster of NFL stars includes  Jets running back Le’Veon Bell and safety Jamal Adams, Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas, Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery, Ravens safety Earl Thomas and Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu.

Some of Jordan Brand’s MLB players who will be competing in the post-season are St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dexter Fowler and catcher Yadier Molina, Los Angeles Dodgers’ reliever Kenley Jansen, and Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Gio Gonzalez. As of yet, the cleated versions are not yet slated for a public release.

SR Fantasy Football Week 3: Winners/Losers & Waiver Wire Pickups

SR Fantasy Football Week 3: Winners/Losers & Waiver Wire Pickups

Featured

After three week of riveting football action, some trends that are starting to take place. There have been surprises, like every other year, such as the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions. The fact is that analysts really don’t know as much as they claim. So much happens on a week to week basis, making fantasy football so unpredictably awesome!

Winners:

  • Daniel Jones, QB, New York Giants

In the eyes of all NY Giants fans, Daniel Jones is the hero and savior they needed. After a deflating start to the season with injuries and terrible play, Giants fans could only hope the 6th overall pick that they booed on draft night had some game. Thankfully for them, Jones looked poised and led the Giants on an 18-point 4th quarter come from behind victory, something Eli has never done in his career. Jones also did the majority of this without his best offensive weapon, Saquon Barkley.

  • Taylor Gabriel, WR, Chicago Bears

Gabriel stole the show on Monday Night, as he was on the receiving end of three Mitch Trubisky TD passes. Gabriel has been quiet up until week 3, only catching three passes combined in the first two weeks. In Matt Nagy’s offense there are tons of opportunities for quick slot receivers to make a difference. With Allen Robinson playing on the outside, it’s really a battle between Gabriel and Anthony Miller to become the clear #2 WR option. This was the first stand out performance for the Bears offense, so it might be smart to pump the brakes until some consistency develops.

  • Phillip Lindsay, RB, Denver Broncos

After two mediocre performances, Denver RB Phillip Lindsay proved that his Pro-Bowl Rookie campaign was no fluke. As the first undrafted offensive player to make the Pro-Bowl in his rookie season, many still didn’t believe in his talents. Going up against an improved Green Bay defense, Lindsay went for over 100 yards and 2 TDs. The Broncos should really feature Lindsay more like they did last week, as Royce Freeman hasn’t shown the ability to consistently make plays.

Losers:

  • James Conner, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

Starting the year, Conner was considered a borderline RB1 with tremendous upside on a week to week basis. With the loss of Ben Roethlisberger and a locker room going many different directions, Conner seems to be getting hit the hardest. With new QB Mason Rudolph, game flow has been forcing them to throw the ball too much, especially in the second half. Conner isn’t able to get any rhythm and it clearly shows in his numbers. He hasn’t totaled over 65 yards in any game so far and he has only reached the end zone once. Conner is no longer an RB1, for now.

  • Stefon Diggs, WR, Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings really devoted their off season to the run game. After being one of the most pass-heavy offenses in 2018, they are almost the complete opposite so far in 2019. This has really taken a toll on WR Stefon Diggs, who had over 1000 yards and 9 TDs last season. In week 3, he had a measly three receptions for 15 yards. If Diggs hadn’t connected on a 45 yard TD in Week 2, he might be one of the biggest busts so far this year.

  • Robert Woods, WR, Los Angeles Rams

After an amazing season in 2018, Robert Woods has had a slow start to the 2019 campaign. He is yet to top 75 yards in a game and still has not found the end zone. Although he appears here this week, Woods does have a QB and coaching staff that can maximize his talents throughout the year, so don’t worry too much.

Waiver Wire Pickups:

  • Darrel Williams, RB, Kansas City Chiefs (85.6% Available)

As the KC backfield deals with some injuries, Darrel Williams is a great option to pick up, especially if you are a Damien Williams or Shady McCoy owner. Darrel Williams came in last week and produced over 100 yards and looked sharp. If the two starters were to miss anymore time, look no further than Williams.

  • DJ Chark, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars (41.1% Available)

The fact that DJ Chark is still available in only 40% of leagues is laughable! He is the clear #1 option for QB Gardner Minshew II, and his outstanding physicality makes him a force in the red zone. He has totaled over 15 fantasy points (0.5 PPR) and a TD in every week so far. Pick him up while you can.

  • Wayne Gallman, RB, New York Giants (46.5% Available)

The New York Giants lost their superstar RB Saquon Barkley to a high ankle sprain on Sunday. Barkley is expected to miss 4-8 weeks with the injury. For these weeks the Giants will be starting RB Wayne Gallman. Gallman isn’t anything too special, but his volume in the new Daniel Jones led offense will surely lead to at least FLEX production. Available is just less than 50% of leagues, scoop him up now, especially if you own Barkley!

Primetime Preview: Cleveland Browns at New York Jets

Primetime Preview: Cleveland Browns at New York Jets

Featured

Tonight’s Monday Night battle is between two franchises undergoing complete renovation. With new Head Coaches, 2nd year starting QBs and a plethora of free agent acquisitions, what once would have been the most boring primetime game of the season turns into a compelling matchup between trending teams.

Unfortunately, the Jets will not be at full strength. Reports came out this week that starting QB Sam Darnold will be sidelined for close to six weeks with Mono. Star free agent pick up Le’Veon Bell also sustained a minor shoulder injury, but the MRI showed no significant damage which is encouraging.

Both squads had a rough week 1. The Jets fumbled away a two touchdown lead to the Bills and the Browns got smacked down at home versus the Titans. This is a bounce back opportunity for both teams, so expect each teams best effort.

Freddy Kitchens has some work to do on his offensive line. Baker Mayfield was under duress the whole game against the Titans, resulting in hurried throws and the inability to sustain drives. They fell behind early as well which forced them to abandon the run game in the second half.

Vegas currently has Cleveland as -6.5 road favorites to defeat New York, largely in part to the absence of QB Sam Darnold. Trevor Sieman will get the start as his replacement. After two extremely average seasons with the Denver Broncos, Sieman has bounced around as a backup, finding a home in New York after spending 2018 with the Vikings.

Don’t expect to see much firepower from the Jets offense tonight. Le’Veon Bell has the possibility for a big game, as the Titans were effective in moving the ball on the ground with Derrick Henry against the Browns. The Jets offensive line doesn’t have the same talent, but Bell could still see tons of work.

The Jets may also be without two key defenders C.J Mosley and Quinnen Williams. Mosley took home a pick six in their week 1 loss to the Bills. Both are listed as questionable as of now, and it will likely come down to a game time decision after pre-game warm ups. Losing these two would be huge, and could lead to a blowout here on Monday Night.
