Key NFL Matchups for 2021-2022 Season

Key NFL Matchups for 2021-2022 Season

NFL

In 119 days, the 2021-2022 season will begin in Tampa Bay, Florida as the Buccaneers will host the Dallas Cowboys on September 9th. This season will be like no other as fans will be returning to the stands for the first in a year, and the NFL will be adding a 17th game. This would be the first time since 1978 that the NFL made a change to the season structure.

  • Dallas Cowboys at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Week 1): Dak is back, is America’s Team ready to play with reigning Super Bowl Champions? Brady coming off his 7th Super Bowl championship will look to put his 3-1 season-opener record up.
  • New York Jets at Carolina Panthers (Week1): Will Sam Darnold get his revenge against his former team? Or, will Zach Wilson prove he is a worthy successor and bring juice to the Big Apple?
  • Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers (Week 3): As the Aaron Rodgers saga seems to be calming down, the Packers will have to get their minds right to play a 49ers team back at full strength. Can the 49ers rekindle their dominance from 2019?

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New England Patriots (Week 4): This is the biggest game of the year for obvious reasons, both Bill Belichick and Tom Brady will want to win this game badly. Will Brady rip apart the Pats or will Bill get the best of the 43-year-old quarterback.
  • Chicago Bears at Las Vegas Raiders (Week 5): Going into week 5, Matt Nagy will have some decisions to make whether to start Justin Fields or not. Chicago loves their fan, and if the Bears start .500 or below the rave to start Fields will be too much to ignore. So, why not start him on the road against a Raiders’ defense that has struggled over the years?
  • Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs (Week 5): To be considered a real contender the Bills will have to beat the Chiefs in a rematch of the AFC Championship game.

  • Arizona Cardinals at Cleveland Browns (Week 6): In 2019 Kyler Murray got the best of Baker Mayfield in a 38-24 victory. Both teams look a lot different from two years ago, as they are loaded on both sides of the ball. The Browns have one of the best rosters in all of football, and the Cardinals had arguably the best off-season via free agency. Which former Oklahoma signal-caller will prevail?
  • Dallas Cowboys at Kansas City Chiefs (Week 11): Seven of the ten draft picks for the Dallas Cowboys were defensive players, can the young and unproven defense show up against Patrick Mahomes?
  • Los Angeles Chargers at Cincinnati Bengals (Week 13): Justin Herbert busted on the scene last year by winning Rookie of the Year and breaking the rooking passing touchdown record at 31. As for Joe Burrow, his season was cut short due to an injury, but the Bengals have arguably the best young offense in the league by adding Ja’Marr Chase in the draft. If you’re looking for a high-scoring game and a battle of two young strong-arm quarterbacks, you’re in for a treat.
  • Buffalo Bills at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Week 14): By week 14, we should have a good idea of what these two juggernauts bring to the table. Can Josh Allen overcome the Bucs’ stout defense? Is the Buccaneers’ offense better in year two?
  • Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns (Week 14): The Browns have the AFC North crown on their mind, this could be the rivalry that defines the AFC North for years to come.

  • Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers (Week 15): The Chargers could be a playoff team this year, and this game could have playoff implications. Can Herbert outdo Mahomes, or will the Chiefs’ reign of terror continue?

  • Jacksonville Jaguars at the New York Jets (Week 16): The top two draft choices in the 2021 NFL draft will face-off against each other in Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson. Both teams got ‘their’ guy and will have had 15 games to see where their young QBs stand. Another key aspect to look for in this game is the rookie head coaches Robert Salah and Urban Meyer.

Talk to me Detroit, WAZZUP!!!

The Detroit Pistons & Martin Lawrence have teamed up for a limited edition collection, this collaboration pay homage to the pioneer of black sitcom. A partnership perfect sense as the ’90’s sitcom is synonymous with Detroit from it’s deep-rooted connection of using Detroit as the backdrop city. Martin’s appreciation for the city derives from its sitcom run, however, he did create a genuine love for Detroit–so much so, that he owns a championship ring from the 2004 team.

The limited-run items, which include jerseys, hats, shorts, sweatshirts, T-shirts and more will blended the aesthetic of the intro text to Martin with the Detroit Pistons name. In addition, the collaboration also includes quotes and iconic scenes superimposed onto the respective merchandise.

“Detroit has always shown me so much love and always shows up for me,” Lawrence said in a release announcing the partnership. “From stand-up tours to fans on the street Detroit has felt like home. It’s an honor to be part of something that means so much to me to this many years later.”

The Pistons are similarly happy to have an official collab with Lawrence.

“With the city of Detroit as the show’s backdrop, ‘Martin’ became must-watch TV in the 90s,” said Mike Zavodsky, chief business officer of the Pistons. “Martin’s love for the Pistons in the show translated into passion for the team – the fact that he has a ring from the 2004 team is proof of that. We’re thrilled to partner with Martin to introduce a merchandise line that pays homage to both Martin and the show’s Detroit roots.”

Look out for the Martin Lawrence x Detroit Pistons collaboration dropping this Friday May 14th, 2021 exclusively on Piston313shop.com.
