Tom Brady Will Not Return to the New England Patriots

Featured

For 20 seasons, Tom Brady has suited up in a New England Patriots uniform on Sundays. Over that time, he’s put up the stats and accolades that few others have been able to match.

However, Brady’s time with the franchise will come to an end. A free agent for the first time in his career, the 42-year-old has made the decision that he will continue to play football elsewhere:

While both goodbyes are clearly emotional and heartfelt, the line that sticks out like a sore thumb is, “I don’t know what my football future holds but it is time for me to open a new stage for my life and career.”

Brady will be 43 when the next season starts and he has made it well known he intends to play until he’s at least 45, which would mean three more seasons remain for the GOAT.

The word around the league is that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Chargers are the front runners for his services. Both teams offer upgrades in weapons (Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and OJ Howard in Tampa and Keenan Allen, Mike Williams and Hunter Henry in Los Angeles) which has been Brady’s main complaint about the last few teams in New England.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is also reporting that financially, both teams are willing to give Brady big money to join their teams:

Though we don’t know what’s next for Brady yet we do know his time with the Patriots is over. Owner Robert Kraft and head coach Bill Belichick both released statements thanking and honoring Brady for what he was able to do for two decades in New England:

In the end, it seems like a split was inevitable. Kraft has told anyone who would listen that had Brady told the team he wanted to return that they would have made things work:

Meanwhile, word from Brady’s camp was that the lack of true negotiations from the Patriots was a turn off and that the quarterback was looking for the team to make more of an effort than they did:

BREAKING NEWS: Buffalo Bills Acquire Stefon Diggs

BREAKING NEWS: Buffalo Bills Acquire Stefon Diggs

Featured

We have a third blockbuster trade on the first day of legal tampering and it’s another wide receiver on the move.

The Minnesota Vikings sent disgruntled wide receiver, Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills. In case you missed it, Diggs sent off a couple of tweets earlier in the day to let it be known that he was ready for a move:

Before the day was over, Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer reported that Diggs would be on the move:

ESPN’s Adam Schefter followed up with a full breakdown of the trade:

After seeing DeAndre Hopkins get moved for only second round and future draft pick, the Vikings made away like bandits with the amount of draft compensation they were able to get back from Buffalo.

For the Bills, they are trying to surround Josh Allen with the necessary weapons to ensure that the young quarterback can play at a high level. In Diggs, he gets a speedy receiver who’s young and is coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons.

Things are changing rapidly in the NFL and it looks like the Bills are pushing their chips all-in to try and knock the New England Patriots off the top of the AFC East pedestal after 20 years of dominance.

DeForest Buckner Traded to the Indianapolis Colts

DeForest Buckner Traded to the Indianapolis Colts

Featured

Ladies and gentlemen, we have another blockbuster deal.

After seeing one Pro Bowl talent leave the division, the AFC South recouped another as the Indianapolis Colts acquired defensive lineman DeForest Buckner in exchange for the 13th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

In the end, it seems like the San Francisco 49ers chose Arik Armstrad (who they re-signed to a five-year $85 million contract) over Buckner.

Buckner was a huge part of the vaunted Niners defense that helped propel the team to the Super Bowl last season. His ability to create interior pressure in the pocket from his position is second to only Los Angeles Ram’s stalwart, Aaron Donald.

San Francisco will now possess two first round picks in the upcoming draft (13 and 31) and will likely look to bring in two highly capable players who can keep the team playing at the top of the game.

The Colts are getting a game-changer and the sides agreed to a deal that will pay him like one. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on the terms of the new deal:

Former Colts great, Robert Mathis sees big things coming for this Indianapolis Defense this season:

BREAKING NEWS: DeAndre Hopkins Traded to the Arizona Cardinals

BREAKING NEWS: DeAndre Hopkins Traded to the Arizona Cardinals

Featured

While we still wait to see where Tom Brady ultimately ends up, the perceived holding pattern that the rest of the league was supposed to be in has not come to fruition at all. Moves are being made left and right.

The biggest move of the day comes as the Houston Texans made the surprising choice of dealing All-Pro wide receiver, DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals.

At first, the Texans trading for David Johnson was reported and people were quick to imagine what a Texans offense led by Deshaun Watson with all those weapons would look like:

But then, ESPN’s Adam Schefter dropped the bomb on the world:

People were critical of how Bill O’Brien operates as de facto general manager last season when he made some all-in moves to the start of the 2019 year. Now that he officially has the title this swap will go down as his first true move with control.

This is the third trade for a running back that Houston has made in the last three months. With Lamar Miller and Carlos Hyde on the open market, Houston did need some reinforcements in their backfield.

Rumors of the team potentially moving on from Hopkins started to leak out earlier today but the team moved on just as quickly as the rumors began.

The Cardinals now get a true number one receiver for reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, Kyler Murray to throw to while also bringing back Larry Fitzgerald and Kenyan Drake (franchise tag). Hopkins has been absolutely stellar in recent years:

Arizona feels like the winner here and Chase Edmonds wasn’t afraid to let everyone know:

Patrick Peterson is also happy with the deal:
